The LEGO Group recently announced a new line of sets for the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park. The biggest set in this line is set #76961: Jurassic Park Visitor Center: T. rex & Raptor Attack.

All the major characters are part of the set: Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Tim, Lex, Ray Arnold and dr. Wu. The T. rex and a Velociraptor are also included.

Building

The exterior of the LEGO building is a simplified version of the actual visitor center from the film, with its thatched roof and fossil details surrounding the door frame.

Skeleton

The set comes with a loose T. rex skeleton which was also featured in the film version along a skeleton of the Alamosaurus.

Mural

Both sides of the entrance feature artwork inspired by the Jurassic Park mural which was painted by naturalist painter Doug Henderson.

Laboratory

On the left hand side of the LEGO version is a scaled down version of the laboratory and control center. The egg incubator features the robot arm that was also seen in the film.

Pieces of amber can also be found, including one under a microscope and Mr. DNA makes a cameo on the wall.

Note the large round window just like in the film’s version of the control center.

Restaurant

On the other side of the building is yet another iconic set from the film: the visitor center’s restaurant.

Lots of LEGO desserts can be found in the restaurant, including the famous green jell-o that Lex eats when she first sees the raptor appear. And yes, that’s a fan on the ceiling, just like in the film.

When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth

Undeniably the most iconic (and obvious) easter egg is the “When Dinosaurs Rules the Earth” banner that “can fall with the flick of a trigger”.

What are your thoughts on this version of the visitor center? Would you like to see a more adult-orientated version? Drop a comment below!
