In 1997, General Mills released a limited-edition breakfast cereal in the United States as part of a promotional tie-in with The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Timed to coincide with the movie’s theatrical debut, the cereal featured crunchy, dinosaur foot–shaped pieces mixed with colorful “fossil” marshmallows, evoking the prehistoric theme of the film.
The packaging prominently showcased lush leafs and striking font, appealing to both young fans and collectors. Some boxes even contained hidden sound chips that played roars when activated, an innovative and memorable marketing gimmick for the time.
Like many promotional cereals of the 1990s, The Lost World: Jurassic Park cereal combined pop culture excitement with breakfast fun, becoming a nostalgic artifact of the film’s massive marketing campaign and a sought-after collectible among fans of movie memorabilia today.
