The Jurassic World STEM line, released by Mattel in 2018, was designed to combine education with hands-on play, encouraging children to explore paleontology and dinosaur science in an interactive way. These sets allowed kids to excavate, assemble, and study dinosaur skeletons and anatomy, fostering curiosity about prehistoric life while reinforcing STEM-based learning. The line featured fossil excavation kits, buildable skeleton models, and a detailed anatomy set, making it an engaging way for young enthusiasts to learn about dinosaurs beyond the big screen.
The Fossil Strikers series featured a collection of puzzle-style kits where kids could assemble articulated dinosaur skeletons. The lineup included Pteranodon, Velociraptor, Triceratops, and Stygimoloch models, each designed with a fossilized appearance and the ability to be posed on a museum stand with an accompanying placard. Each Fossil Striker came with a DNA-key that motorized some parts of the skeleton. These sets not only provided a fun assembling experience but also allowed children to engage in imaginative play by making the skeletons “come to life” in their own prehistoric adventures.
