Description

This board game, released in 1997 by Milton Bradley, is an asymmetrical dice-rolling game that pits humans against dinosaurs. Players control either the human team, trying to escape from Isla Sorna, or the dinosaurs, whose goal is to stop the humans by eliminating them. The human team starts with 12 tokens and aims to get three people to safety via a helicopter, while dinosaurs, including a T-Rex and Velociraptors, try to devour as many humans as possible.

The game features a 3D board with cardboard buildings where humans can take shelter. Both teams roll dice to move across the board, with special mechanics for jumping between buildings or breaking into them. The T-Rex operates differently, slowly moving toward the humans’ starting point to force them out of their hiding spots.

The game’s thematic elements capture the tension of the film, with its high stakes of survival and constant threat of dinosaur attacks, though its gameplay is relatively simple compared to modern board games. Despite its straightforward mechanics, the game’s asymmetry adds variety to the experience.
