Forget about the Pokédex from the hit series Pokémon. Because back in 2001 there was the Dino Dex by Tiger/Hasbro. I never tried it, but according to the package it “contains detaled information and graphic animations on over 70 dinosaurs”. There are 2 games: Battle Dome in which you “go head-to-head in a fight-to-the-death against another dinosaur” and the DNA Lab which will let you create your own hybrid dinosaurs. The Dino Dex is also an organiser that lets you store name and phone numbers, notes and there’s a calculator on there as well.

Jurassic World Dino Hybrid book review
Posted on — Leave a commentThis Jurassic World Dino Hybrid book by Random House was released earlier this year. It features dinosaur cards and stickers, as well as several pages dedicated to the Hybrid Dinosaurs that were created by Dr. Wu. The cards are perforated for easy removal. All the hybrids featured in the book, have their own cards and stickers. The stickers don’t serve any purpose in the book, since there’s no background or scenery to stick them on. The design of the dinosaur hybrids were also used in the Jurassic World game by Ludia and the recently released Hybrid toy line by Hasbro.…
Jurassic Park mini standee
Posted on — Leave a commentJurassic Park III Paul Kirby and Stegosaurus
Posted on — Leave a commentPaul Kirby is an action figure from the Jurassic Park III toy line. He was part of the wave 2 release along Alan Grant with Compies and the generic Military Diver with Spinosaurus. The Jurassic Park III toy line was released under the Hasbro banner, dumping the Kenner branding along with the traditional Jurassic Park look, feel and scale. Paul Kirby resembles William H. Macy likeness, but is lacking his trademark mustache. His pose is very awkward, it took me some time to get him standing without falling over. The Stegosaurus is kinda surprising. All the other dinosaurs that came…
Jurassic World Velociraptor 4-Pack
Posted on — Leave a commentThis Velociraptor pack was sold in the US as a Target exclusive. The Blue figure was not released before and features a light up skin pattern by using the included LED light. The other 3 raptors, dubbed “Titan Raptors”, were released separately all over the world. They sparked an out cry among Jurassic Park and dinosaur fans because they are lacking their famous toe claws. The new Blue figure is lacking this as well. I got this set, among a lot of other JW stuff, during my visit to Orlando earlier this year. It surprised me how big this box…
Dakin Jurassic Park Brachiosaurus
Posted on — 8 CommentsBack in 1992 Dakin released a set of four Jurassic Park stuffed dinosaurs. One of them was a beautiful Brachiosaurus. I remember buying the Dilophosaurus, Velociraptor and Triceratops when I was a kid, but never managed to get the Brachiosaurus, because it was so much more expensive. I always regretted this however. Quite a few years later I was very fortunate to find one in excellent condition, including its original tag, on a flea market. As you can see on the pictures, this Brachiosaurus is HUGE! When you compare it to the Kenner figures, it’s almost in the right scale.…
The Lost World Cheerios fossil replicas
Posted on — Leave a commentBack in 1997, Nestlé Europe gave away some very nice fossil replicas in their cereal, including Cheerios. These were actually quite popular back in the day, I remember there were lots of opened boxes in the store at the time. The back side of each fossil package had some real life facts about the particular dinosaur.
Topps The Lost World eggs advertisement
Posted on — Leave a commentThese The Lost World themed dinosaur eggs were released in 1997 by Topps, the company that brought us the Jurassic Park and The Lost World trading cards, as well as the official comic books. The plastic eggs contained some sweets and a dinosaur skeleton. This advertisement was featured on the back of the European The Lost World sticker album by Merlin, a company owned by Topps.
Jurassic World “Mountain Dew” T-Rex
Posted on — Leave a commentOne of the Jurassic World wave 3 toys is the repainted T-Rex. On the promotional artwork released by Hasbro, the Rex sported an almost fluorescent green color. It quickly gained the nickname Mountain Dew Rex. However in reality, the green isn’t as bright at all. It comes close to the paint job on the wave 1 Stegoceratops. I got my “Mountain Dew” Rex along with a whole bunch of other wave 3 Jurassic World toys during my Orlando trip in January of this year. So far none of these have been spotted in retail stores here in Europe.
