Description

The Dilophosaurus and Deinonychus duo assembly kit was part of Armando Curcio Editore’s 1993 weekly Jurassic Park collectible series, released by the historic Rome-based Italian publisher founded in 1927 that specialized in encyclopedias and children’s educational content.

Each weekly newsstand kit included both agile predators with their unique characteristics—the Dilophosaurus featuring its fictionalized neck frill and venom-spitting portrayal from the film, while the Deinonychus represented the real-world paleontological inspiration behind the film’s Velociraptors. The set came with a large illustrated poster emphasizing movement and contrast between the two species. As one of six dinosaur entries in Curcio Editore’s series, this dual kit offered both cinematic flair and paleontological context. The publisher’s bankruptcy in early 1994 shortly after the series launched made this unique predator pairing a scarce and engaging collectible for fans interested in both film storytelling and dinosaur science.
