Description

In 1993, Danone Portugal ran a Jurassic Park promotional campaign under the slogan “Entra no Mundo de Jurassic Park” (“Enter the World of Jurassic Park”), rewarding yogurt purchases with a tiered set of collectible prizes: 4 yogurts earned a dinosaur figure, 8 earned a Jurassic Park vehicle, and 12 earned either a cap or a 1994 calendar.

These dinosaur and vehicle premiums were die-cut cardboard standees that, when collected together, could be placed in a cardboard Visitor Center diorama — a miniature recreating of the iconic Jurassic Park scene, with the cardboard dinosaurs and vehicles posed within a printed backdrop setting.

Our current collection includes the dinosaur and vehicle models from this set, representing two of the three reward tiers; the cap and 1994 calendar variants, which completed the campaign’s full premium offering, are not currently part of the collection. As a food-industry promotional item with a limited distribution window tied to yogurt purchases, surviving examples of any tier — particularly complete or unassembled diorama sets — are scarce and represent a distinctive corner of Portuguese Jurassic Park memorabilia from 1993.
