The Hasbro Jurassic Park III toy line was released in 2001 to coincide with the movie of the same name. The RE-AK A-TAK dinosaur line represented significant changes in both design and scale compared to the earlier Kenner toys. One of the key differences was the use of electronic features on nearly all dinosaur toys. There was also a shift to harder plastic materials, moving away from the softer, more flexible plastics used by Kenner, which gave the dinosaurs a less organic feel. Additionally, the Hasbro dinosaurs dropped the dinosaur-to-human scale, which made large dinosaurs the same height as smaller species. These changes are contrasting with Kenner’s focus on realism and playability.
