Jurassic Park is a classic movie that brought the wonder and thrill of dinosaurs to the big screen like never before. Some of the most popular dinosaurs today gained fame thanks to the film, like Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, T. Rex and many more.
However, there were a few dinosaurs mentioned that never made it in the entire Jurassic franchise. Fortunately, toy companies like Mattel have taken up the challenge of bringing these creatures to life in their toy lines. In this blog post, we’ll be taking a look at three dinosaurs that were mentioned but not seen in Jurassic Park, but were made into toys by Mattel.
3. Proceratosaurus
The Proceratosaurus was mentioned on the Jurassic Park souvenir map that can be seen in the tour vehicles. Mattel made its own version of the dinosaur in 2018 as part of their Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom line and has been repainted a few times since.
2. Herrerasaurus
Also featured on the souvenir map and released in 2018 by Mattel. A few repaints and one resculpt were released in the following years.
1. Metriacanthosaurus
Besides being mentioned on the souvenir map, its name can also be seen in the cold storage room when Dennis Nedry is stealing the embryos.

Other dinosaurs mentioned on the souvenir map not featured in the first Jurassic Park film are Segisaurus and Baryonyx. The latter eventually appeared in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and was turned into a toy by Mattel, based on that design.
