Five years ago today, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous roared onto Netflix, giving fans a fresh look at Isla Nublar through the eyes of a group of adventurous teenagers. The animated series quickly became a hit for both younger audiences and long-time Jurassic fans, blending action, suspense, and heartfelt character moments with the awe and terror of dinosaurs roaming free. Spanning multiple seasons, it not only expanded the lore of the franchise but also became a bridge between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Dominion.
Beyond the screen, the show made a major impact in the toy aisles. Mattel brought Camp Cretaceous to life with a wide range of figures, playsets, and dinosaurs that captured the imagination of collectors and kids alike. To mark the anniversary, let’s take a look back at some of the standout toys inspired by the series.
Bumpy the Ankylosaurus

One of the breakout stars of Camp Cretaceous was without a doubt Bumpy, the adorable baby ankylosaurus who quickly grew into a fan favorite. Mattel released multiple versions of Bumpy, from the hatchling incarnation to the adult version, they all capture her charm and personality. These figures remain some of the most beloved tie-ins from the series.
Roar Attack Kentrosaurus

Another standout from Camp Cretaceous was the gentle but formidable Kentrosaurus, nicknamed Pierce by the campers. Mattel brought this dinosaur to life with the Roar Attack Kentrosaurus figure, featuring action sound effects and striking detail. The toy quickly became a fan favorite, offering a faithful representation of Pierce and giving collectors a way to add one of the show’s most memorable herbivores to their displays.
Danger Pack Scorpios Rex

One of the most memorable threats from Camp Cretaceous was the Scorpios Rex, a nightmarish hybrid unlike anything seen before in the franchise. Mattel captured its menace with the Scorpios Rex Danger Pack, which paired the dinosaur with a Kenji figure and a Gyrosphere. This set not only highlighted the terror of the hybrid but also gave fans a dynamic way to recreate the thrilling chase sequences from the show.
Story Packs

Each Story Pack included accessories that helped capture the atmosphere of Isla Nublar and the challenges the teens faced while stranded there.

What a delightful trip down memory lane! Who knew baby Bumpy could be so iconic? Seriously though, those toys look like they’d bring some serious joy (or at least a loud Roar Attack) to any fan’s room. The Scorpios Rex set, though – pure genius for recreating the terror! And lets be real, having a Kenji figure to pair with the hybrid is essential for accuracy. Great reminder that even the most terrifying dinosaurs on Isla Nublar had their moment in the sun (and in our bedrooms) thanks to some fantastic toy lines.
